Apple entering the Home Automation market?

Are Apple about to enter the Home Automation market?

We should find out on 2nd June at their WWDC developer conference where it is rumoured that they will be launching a new platform to help product developers interface their home automation products with the iOS ecosystem. It’s likely that compatibility with this new platform will require at least, the yet to be released, iOS 8; and may also need additional hardware capability of forthcoming iPhone and iPad devices.
