Cyberhomes’ Suppliers Shine at ISE 2014
Integrated Systems Europe is the most anticipated, most exciting and most attended systems integration tradeshow in the world, and the 2014 installation of the Amsterdam-based 3-day exhibition did not disappoint in keeping up the annual tradition of showcasing trailblazing tech.
Some of our main suppliers, including home automation product manufacturing market leaders Control4 and Savant, put on fantastic displays of technological brilliance to dazzle the visitors at their stands.
On day one of ISE Savant showed off the latest addition to their multi-room media distribution product range; the new HDBaseT-enabled receivers, SmartLink HDMI. These can connect the full HDBaseT 5Play feature from any room, including audio, visual, control, power and Ethernet over a single Cat5e/6 cable.
Savant claim that the HDBaseT receivers will provide convenient and cost-effective audio and HD video on a single cable path and are available to be fitted either as an in-wall or standalone module. The new product is available as an 8×8, 8×6 and 8×4 and can be controlled using Savant’s TrueControl app on an Apple iOS device, such as an iPad or iPhone.
Wireless lighting products were the order of day two for Control4 with three simple-to-program lighting units that go perfectly with either residential and commercial retrofit or new construction projects. The first, the Wireless Adaptive Phase Dimmer, can be used in conjunction with numerous dimmable load types including LED, halogen, incandescent, fluorescent and low voltage electronic lighting.
Because the dimmer, controlled by a wireless configurable keypad, can be utilised by a broad range of lighting elements you aren’t required to change your dimmer as you change your lights – the vast majority of the time the dimmer can be used for any wireless lighting system.
The second unit, the Wireless Configurable Keypad, lets the user control lighting, audio, video and security with a single touch. When choosing your keypad there are a total of 37 different configurations of buttons, made up of between two and seven custom-engraved LED backlit buttons and four button sizes
The third unit, the Wireless Keypad Dimmer, combines the Adaptive Phase Dimmer with the configurable keypad for ultimate lighting customisation.
You can expect to see these options in our automated lighting system solutions soon!
Control4 love creating extraordinary music experiences, which is why they were showcasing the Wireless Music Bridge, which can transfer music playing on smartphones, tablets and desktops to a Control4 music player, without hampering the other browsing and app usability of the device.
Using designated audio zones, everyone in the house can enjoy their music taste by streaming AirPlay, Bluetooth and DNLA. Users who prefer music services such as Pandora, Spotify or Rdio can use the Wireless Music Bridge to stream music, podcasts, audio books and sports, among other audio files. Even when the app is closed, the Wireless Music Bridge is still controllable from your chosen controlling interface.
There is no limit to the number of Wireless Music Bridges you can have in your house, which means each person can have their own wireless oasis of audio.
We were really excited with Lutron’s performance at ISE Europe. They introduced wire-free roller blinds which have an incredible battery life of between 3-5 years!
The blinds utilise Triathlon Technology and require six standard D-Cell batteries, which only use one-1000th of a Watt when in standby mode – which is why get you those 3-5 years before having to replace the batteries.
When you choose this new range of Lutron blind, you get an incredible choice of over 1500 fabrics and a range of widths up to 8-feet wide.
Despite being a motorised and battery-powered blind it is almost silent when in operation and each blind has a modern removable fascia depending on your preferred style.
For a closer look at the wire-free blind from Lutron, watch the video below where Rob Rundo from Lutron showcases the design and functionality at ISE Europe 2014.
Cost-efficiency was the aim of the game for Kaleidescape at ISE 2014 with their Cinema One system. Kaleidescape love home cinema and the Cinema One enables installers to give their customers a broader range of movie storage solutions at differing price levels.
Movie downloads aren’t the only feature of this exquisitely-designed box. The user can store up to 600 DVD or 100 Blu-ray quality movies and, not only that, the Cinema One starts a movie playing faster than any Blu-ray player on the market.
The Cinema One will combine flawlessly with our Cinema Rooms and home automation systems as the lights automatically dim as the movie is started.
If your children love movies the interface can be switched to a child-friendly version to make it simple and easy to use for the whole family.
