Developing SMART homes

We thought you’d like to take a sneak peek at the ‘work in progress’ of a development of five smart home MDUs in the increasingly popular Shoreditch area of London. These uniquely-styled properties provide vertical living spaces with one room on each of six floors (including a basement) linked with a beautiful wood and glass spiral staircase.

The first of the five units is almost complete and Cyberhomes have installed integrated automation and entertainment systems all controlled by the intuitive Savant control system. All the lighting throughout the house is controlled with Lutron which allows for numerous lighting scenes in each room and the ability to turn off all the lights from a single point as you leave the building.

The basement features a cinema with a 2.3 m projection screen and 5.1 surround sound. This is also where we have located the Cyberhomes AV rack which allows sound and video to be distributed to speakers and screens throughout the property from sources such as Sky HD and Apple TV. There’s even a Kaleidescape movie server that allows you to watch any of your favourite films either in the cinema or on the screens in any other room.

An in-wall iPad in the kitchen provides easy access to all the systems throughout the house (including heating control) and this supplemented by additional hand-held remote controls and, of course, everything can also be controlled from a smartphone or additional iPads.

We’ll update you on this project as the additional apartments get completed.
